What do you say bayto?
"..the government is ...selling copies of the country’s “ratified” constitution booklets in Tigrinya, Arabic and English." ( first reported by awate)the official was asked why? He responded.. "We want the population to read and understand the constitution."

Waw, it is a great day for the government of Eritrea they took the beating. I rather wait and have the true constitution than the fake one all over Africa used. We paid too dearly to settle for the fake constitution. So, if the government wants more time and do it right, I am all with that. And if we are ready and ready to implement the real constitution then I am extremely happy. Let’s do it right, the likes of awate.com will die of heart attack. I am telling you; if they don’t die of heart attack then sure they will commit suicide. I know they are not no body but a bunch of rejects and child molesters but they way they attacked this country, it one of for the books and history. |

Had the government sold copies of the constitution 10 years ago, more than half of the population wouldn't have been able to read and understand the constitution by themselves. Postponing the implementation of the written constitution was perhaps one of the smartest decisions the government has ever made. Here's why....
Young people are the future of every country and investment in their education is seen as a proxy for investment in the economy as a whole. Overall Eritrea’s literacy rate is 67% which is similar to that in India, however in the crucial 15-24 demographic, Eritrea’s literacy rate is estimated at nearly 89%, a literacy rate close to Turkey and South Africa. If Eritrea can maintain and press on with these improvements Eritrea could soon join the 99% club, occupied almost exclusively by the modern economies. __________________ -

"Eritrea has become a threat - 'a threat of a good example,' a beacon of hope in a continent filled with misery and despair, and where Africans, despite their abundant resources, because of corruption and greed, and most of all because of economic programs prescribed by self-serving external forces, have been relegated to live on handouts from the "generous" west"

The Eritrean Constitution will be implemented when the right time comes - not because some Eritrea's enemies attempt to use it to tarnish our country and government. That said, I believe it is time for Hagerawi Bayto to be reactivated and resume its legal responsibility and help out our President, the Ministers and the regional Governors discuss issue that are near and dear to all Eritrean hearts. So, I see the distribution of the Constitution, if true, as a step in that direction. __________________ Eritrea's Sovereignty is Non Negotiable! |

As almost immediately upon ratification of the Constitution, the nation experienced a wave of prosperity that contributed significantly to widespread support and the support soon developed into a much more profound support was for the prospects of the new nation, now I believe it is at least equally important to implement the Constitution itself to make reality; because a constitution is a document that unites rather than divides and vital to create a conducive environment where all communities could live safely and with dignity __________________ Gezai T Asg |

EthiopianReview.comEthiopian Review has been informed by a credible source in Asmara that Eritrea’s president Isaias Afwerki is planning to step down within a year along with most of the senior leadership and transfer power to younger leaders. Asked about possible successors, the source said he can throw out some names but it would be pure speculation on his part. Isaias is keeping the decision close to the vest. Another source and an attentive observer of Eritrean politics has told Ethiopian Review that Isaias’ decision to step down is not surprising and that he has been quietly preparing for transfer of power because of his declining health as well as growing discontent in the military. Isaias doesn’t want to die in office like his late nemesis Meles Zenawi, our source said, adding: He wants to be a Mandela- or George Washington-like figure to his country by overseeing a smooth transfer of power on his own term. After Eritrean military officers have started to openly complain about poor living conditions with no improvement in sight, earlier this year Isaias promised that there will be changes, including a new constitution. But no one expected he will hand over power while alive. The Eritrean opposition media are reporting that the regime is unraveling and senior officials are contemplating defections. Earlier this week, there was a rumor that Information Minister Ali Abdu has sought asylum in Canada. Ethiopian Review’s sources have denied the rumor and that Ali Abdu is still at the Ministry of Information. As a matter fact, according to our source, Ali, who is like a son to Isaias, is one of the younger leader whose prominence in the Eritrean government will reach new heights in the post-Isaias era if the transition of power goes smoothly. Regarding war with Ethiopia’s regime, Ethiopian Review’s source said that no one among the senior leadership expects full scale military clash because both countries have neither the will nor the economic resources to fight. Both regimes talk about possible war to divert the attention of their people from domestic problems. __________________ Gezai T Asg |

Individuals may come and go for different reason.
Question is since when we(Eritreans) in our history relied upon individuals ?
Never.......Ever....Ever
That is not to undermine the relentless hard work or sacrifice they put individuals.
Nowadays specially after the death of the frog it become kind of habit to name individuals and put story of the death, sickness or left the regime in Eritrea as a topic.
The frog is gone forever .Period.There is no returning back for your frog but in their mind bad story that comes from Eritrea it is a kind of consolation for those lost souls.
Fact is some people tend to get carried by this kind of news. If this or other individual for the matter died or left their position for what ever reason what is expected to change ? Same goes when the frog died many expect as there will be a complete change the way woyane run the country.I dont believe for one minute this will happen and even if it does still we have to deal with the next.
Many people throw gossips and they ask me for kind of verification as i myself i am veteran.Believe you me call me ignorant but i dont know any name. You know as I know that for sure there are certain individuals they gloat about their position and make a lot of noise.I would not be surprised if they caught the eyes of many. However the fact remain that anything that is achieved is done collectively.
No any Brigader General won the war by himself. Not even the president can do what is doing without our collective work.
Since our revolution time we never had the habit of glorifying individuals.Glory is always to our martyrs not the alive one no matter who and what is his/her position.
Glory to our Martyrs it is not just a slogan per se .WE MEAN IT. |

Yes kisun. But keep in mind the people that post nonsense here or the Assena types, are doing it out of frustration for not succeeding for Eritrea kneel down to their whims. Amaniel Iyasu, that traitor that had stolen Eritrean money, will do anything to avoid being accountable to the Eritrean people. But he will! This criminal was sent by the Eritrean government to pursue higher education all at our tax payers’ money. Now, he turns around and belittles our people's hard earned achievements and fabricates lie after lie to get some clicking traffic at his website. He is not the idiot for he is making some money. The idiots are the ones that keep on visiting his trash website. __________________ Eritrea's Sovereignty is Non Negotiable! |

Look at the following statement from the report.. "Assenna, which broadcasts to Eritrea three times a week through its radio frequency found on 9610kHz, is likely distributing false information to destabilize the Red Sea State, an observer familiar with the situation noted... One radio station as discredited as it is is put into a level of a destablizer element....what happened to calm approach. You guys feel in his trap. He is going to churn lies and you guys will be forced to dispute...on and on... If what he reports is not true, he will report to woyane that he forced you, at least, to come out and dispute...that he rattled you...

Tedros- born to a Tigrayan parents was born and raised in Asmara and did most of his schooling in Asmara,Eritrea. Tedros is a soft spoken and highly intelligent person. He is well respected by many Eritrean officials and his assignment as Ethiopia’s foreign minister will tremendously help the two countries to solve their crippling border problem. PMHD was given a list of DPMs and new FM apointee after intense discussion among TPLF big wigs in Mekele recently. Bereket simon played a major role in denying Berhane gebrekristose the foriegn minstry job and favoring Tedros Adhanom.
